Parent selfcare

This post is one of many more to come in which I will keep urging all new parents reading to please take care of yourselves against all odds: ? Remember to make room for yourselves in your lives! ?

This is easier said than done, I know. Getting into a routine is hard enough, let alone keeping in tune with baby’s gradually re-calibrating internal clock. And yet, at the end of the day, cliché or not, we can only take good care of our loved ones if we first take care of ourselves.
Now I am not talking about excessive self-indulging, or spiritual/emotional/material self-growth. I am talking about the simple things we can do for ourselves like taking a walk, sitting down with a nice cup of tea, maintaining our friendships, meditating for 10 mintes, or doing a few stretching or strengthening excercises at peace.

Making time for ourselves is a must in order to prevent exhaustion, fatigue, and depression – especially if we still have the energy and our nerves about us to do so while attending to our little ones.

Being a parent is challenging enough, so please make sure to practice selfcare. Do something for yourself in the coming week to rebalance and recharge. ? And if you have any selfcare tips and strategies you reckon other new parents could take strength and inspiration from, feel free to share in the comments below.

Thank you and take good care ??
